I said what I usually say to these people... post me some info and Ill have a look at it.
Next thing I get a bill from KCT for £140 pounds and a cancellation bill from BT for terminating their service. I was stunned!
I have contacted BT and my phone will be back with them in two-weeks. I tried asking how a company can steal my phone line from them without my permission and they told me that I should have been informed.
This I now know is what is referred to as Slamming. the stealing of you phone services without you giving consent. OFCOM have produced this handy guide to help stop you from being slammed....
So now KCT are probably going to try and tell me I owe them thousands in cancelation fees and they will take me to court. Bearing in mind I never agreed to anything verbally, I never signed anything and to top it all they took my phone line from BT without my consent.....crazy.
I may have a word with some of my colleagues on the business desks of the national papers and see if they fancy investigating. I have contacted OFCOM about my case and sadly it seems many other have also been stung by KCT

It would seem that all too often actually these service providers pass themselves off as BT offering a new service, dont be fooled.
I think Ill consult my wifes professional opinion on the legality of the way they behaved....

UPDATE....MAY 201..... SLAMMED AGAIN! BT gives away my phone line for a second time without informing me. FOREST TELECOMS
I managed to get the phone line back to BT and heard nothing more of KCT for a while and then without warning or any kind of official notification I had a letter from Forest Telecoms demanding more money. Another contributor to the blog had warned me that KCT had changed to Forest Telecoms. I was thinking of ignoring that letter from Forest Telecoms when our phone line went dead. Broadband but no internet!! I checked my previous bill from BT and it showed only Broadband and no Phone calls. After checking with BT I realised that yet again BT had given away my phone line to Forest Telecoms (this time). I contacted BT and after a hour on the phone I managed to get my phone line back with BT. BT reassured me I would not be slammed again but I have to say what terrible customer service on thier part. Twice they have given away my phoneline without my permission or even informing me that it had happened.
Forest Telecoms are now pursueing me for money dispite having no agreement and after taking my phone line without permission.
