As a freelance press photographer you get to meet all sorts of interesting people and hear their stories. It’s not always a particularly uplifting job as news isn’t always good. Many people approach newspapers when they have an axe to grind and therefore even local newspapers can be full of grumpy people.
If you haven’t seen this yet have a quick look it is a funny blog:

I was asked recently by the agency Caters News to photograph two sisters who had undergone spinal surgery. Lucy, 11 and 14-year old Naomi Dover had titanium rods attached to their spines to correct a spinal called idiopathic scoliosis. Remarkably the girls were diagnosed and treated at the same time for this crippling condition is are now back in good health and smiling again.

It is nice when the national newspapers pick up these ‘good news’ stories and quite selfishly it’s nice to see my photographs once more used in the national papers including the Metro and Telegraph and online for the Daily Mail, The Daily Star too.

To read their stories online follow the links.
