I only had time to stay for the first race as I had a busy shift for the Northern Echo Newspaper at Croft but it was interesting one with some challenging tyre choices in the changeable conditions...
Official write-up from the BSB website.... "Samsung Crescent Racings John Hopkins leaves the third round of the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship at Croft second in the overall standings and just three points adrift of Shane Shakey Byrne following his double podium finish.
Great fun photography and great racing
Hopkins had been running second for the majority of the second race and in the early stages was battling with MSS Colchester Kawasakis Gary Mason. The charging Kawasakis were able to get ahead and dropped Hopkins to fourth by lap ten but fighting his way up the order he was soon back to third and was able to maintain the position to secure his fourth consecutive podium finish although he admits he was disappointed it wasnt a victory.
Hopkins said: "I am pretty blessed and thankful for the results we have had at Croft today, to have a double podium finish is a great result and I am happy. At the same time I am disappointed, as after you have won one race you want to win every race so a podium finish is never enough. We have some good points from today and those podium credits for the Showdown later in the season so we just need to keep motoring along and give the Samsung Crescent Racing team the results we need for the championship.
